Yummy Noodles

Southeast Asian inspired dish of stir-fried squid with rice noodle salad and a hot and tangy chili-lime dressing. This has a great bite to it and a refreshing flavor, perfect with a few nibbles with Friends. This is a quick, easy and very tasty meal. This is usually on my weekly meal planner somewhere. I would agree if you don't like you food too hot hold back on the chili sauce.

Noodles are good for you! Noodles are a great source of carbohydrates, which like pasta, is slowly absorbed. Enjoy a delicious chili noodles made with lemongrass, onion, chili and other traditional Thai spices in just minutes. This is a small outlet which specializes in noodles, more specifically chili Noodles as they are flat and wide. A wonderful example of Thai fusion, this recipe starts with fettuccine-style pasta noodles OR Chinese wheat noodles. The noodles are tossed in a Thai-style tomato-crab sauce for an exquisite seafood dish that is right up there on the gourmet scale. Although it tastes creamy, the sauce is not thickened with cream but with a couple of eggs, which keeps it low in fat and good for lactose-free diets. One of my family's favorite recipes, you'll find this noodle dish will please everyone at dinnertime, including the kids.

Types Of Noodles

There are lots of kinds of noodles and you could use any of them in a soup recipe, depending on what kind of soup are making and what other ingredients you are going to use. For a traditional chicken noodle soup recipe, for example, you might choose egg noodles but you could substitute another kind of noodles if you wanted to.

Noodles Made from Egg

Egg noodles are very popular and they feature in a lot of Asian recipes, as well as in soups like chicken noodle soup. Egg noodles can be dried or fresh, round or flat and thick, medium or thin. They have to be cooked in boiling water. If you are making a chicken noodle soup recipe or something similar, use fresh egg noodles rather than dried ones for the best results.

Hokkien noodles are made from wheat flour and egg and these are yellow and thick. You can find them vacuum-packed or fresh in Asian grocery stores. Ramen noodles are the Japanese equivalent to Chinese egg noodles. "Ramen" actually means Chinese noodle. Ramen noodles are thin and you need to keep them in the refrigerator until you use them.

Other Kinds

Rice stick noodles are flat and translucent. You can use them in salads or soup recipes and you have to soak them in warm water before using them. Fresh rice kinds can be thick or thin and they are steamed and oiled, then packaged. Do not refrigerate fresh rice or they will become hard. Dried rice vermicelli are thin and white. They are good at absorbing flavors from other foods.

Wheat flour noodles like udon noodles are Japanese in origin and these need to be boiled, and then added to soup recipes. Soba noodles can be made with buckwheat or wheat flour.

Mung bean thread vermicelli are also known as glass noodles or cellophane noodles and these are made from mung beans. They need to be soaked and drained before being added to recipes.

Pros And Cons Of Fast Food

In this modern world people are used to having fast foods more than the foods that are home made. The reason behind this interest is that fast food saves time and the effort that is needed for cooking a meal at home. The fast food system is well suited to the fast paced life of a very busy working individual today. But the most important factor to be kept in mind while having fast food is the disadvantages it has. Though fast food is very suitable to meet our appetite needs in this busy life which is an advantage, they also have a large number of disadvantages that is solely related to the health of the individual. Some of the most important advantages as well as disadvantages of fast food are discussed in this article.

Pros

The large number of outlets of this restaurants that are working all over the world greatly shows the popularity behind the system of it. A hard working professional who is away from his home or homeland will have to depend on such fast food restaurants and franchisees like KFC Bangalore home delivery. This is a big necessity of man. The biggest advantage that shall be pointed out by the people favoring it is nothing but the time saved. Today people consider getting a readymade meal is better than everything in this world. Even though the benefits and advantages of fresh food are known by all at the end of the day returning home all tired, then there is nothing great than getting a pizza or burger for our hunger. Other than spending time for cooking a meal in the kitchen, most of the people find it difficult tom collect the ingredients needed for day to day cooking. Going for a shopping for this purpose is considered as a tiresome job. Time required to get the raw materials ready by washing, peeling and cutting them is considered a big waste. If a person leads a lonely life then buying something to eat from the restaurant is surely cheaper than preparing each day at home. Online pizza ordering and such related facilities greatly add to the popularity of fast foods.

Cons

The biggest and the well-known disadvantage of it is the adverse effect it may cause to our health. It is a reality and popular fact that fast food is very much unhealthy than the food that is freshly prepared at home. The reason behind this is that it contains larger amounts of salt, oil and fat contents thus increasing our calorie intake. It is an important reason for the problem of obesity. This also has led to many fatal diseases in many. The cardiovascular diseases are the most important among them. There are many outlets of the famous fast food restaurants that greatly consider the comforts of customers. As a leading step to this customer satisfaction they offer home delivery like the McDonald's free home delivery Delhi.

Enjoy 2 Minute Maggi

I know that Maggi is a brandname by Nestle which has stocks, noodles, soups, ketchups and what-not under it’s shadow. But to any Indian born in the 70s and 80s, Maggi simply signifies the instant noodle cakes which were an intrinsic part of their childhood. Originally available in 2 classic flavours, Chicken and Masala, the product has now diversified into fancier types I don’t even want to get into.

Growing up, our house was a no-junk-food home. We never had bottles of cola, packets of chips or instant noodles lying around the house. We survived on good healthy meals and ate everything laid on the table without argument.

Despite this, I never remember having cravings for chips and colas. The only thing I yearned for, and cooked + ate in secret were Maggi Noodles in Masala Flavour! The 2-minute noodles (as they are advertised) actually take about 7-10 mins from start to finish, i.e. if you prepare them the classic way without added vegetables!

To my dismay, my college canteen (cafeteria) didn’t serve Maggi, which was a staple at every other college canteen in Delhi! I would look forward to visiting friends in other colleges just to sample the Maggi in their canteen.

As a healthy eating adult, I laid down boundaries for myself regarding Maggi – thanks to it’s high MSG content and pure refined & bleached flour constitution! I don’t stock it at home and never give in.

But a road trip anywhere brings out the yearning for Maggi! And somehow, the guys in little tea and Maggi stalls make it the best. With the perfect moistness, without making it watery. And without vegetables to give it the illusion of being healthier than it is
